As it is illegal by Amazon to get involved in the things mentioned above, you can not directly ask your customer to write a review for you.
However, you can provide them with quality products at a reasonable price. You can provide discounts and promotions. You can list reasons why they should buy from you instead of your competitors.
All of these things prove helpful to attract customers in buying your products. When the customers are pleased with their shopping, they will write 5 stars review of your products.
Discounts and promotions also help in getting more sales which leads you to get more customer reviews.
So the best thing you can do is sell impeccable quality goods, tempting promotions and discounts, updating the product details as per the need, provide quality pictures of the product, answer as soon as possible to customers queries.
As a customer
If you are a customer who has bought a product from Amazon and you want to write a review about it, you can share it under the feedback section of that product.
Let’s say you bought a book from Amazon. If the book is of good quality, you can take a picture of it and post your experience.
If you are not satisfied with the quality of the book, if there are some torn pages, any dent, or some markings on the book; you can take a picture of that particular area and share it with your experience.
You have to be specific with your review so that it proves to be helpful for others.
Be civil while writing a review if it was a bad experience, you don’t have to bash the seller or cross the line in your review.
You can simply complain about the product and share your bad experience in a friendly manner.

Some bloggers write reviews about the products on their blog sites and websites. If you are a blogger and you want to write affiliate reviews for Amazon, you can sign up on Amazon to do that.
You have to buy a product, use it and then write a review about it on your blog site, whether it is a positive review or a negative review but it should be an honest review.
Your audience who visits your blog site will read your review and buy accordingly.

Hi Ann, yes that is the ethical thing to do for sure. But you as the affiliate seller may be able to go around that but in an indirect way. It is up to you really, as long as Amazon doesn’t catch you redhanded, you probably be fine. Please don’t quote me on this though. The safest and surest way is always the ethical way.
There are excellent points made in your article. When shopping on Amazon, I always read the product review but never analyzed which reviews attracted my attention. The more detail and information about the study’s product, the more likely I would buy that product. Reading the customer reviews is something that I always do before purchasing a product. If the customers mention, the product was not exactly what the description offers – I then look at the report to see if it is accurate. You make many good points.

Thank you for mentioning the things I should not do. I am interested in this topic because I recently published my book and it is listed on Amazon for sale. I got 2 unsolicited reviews and they were good. I would love to get more but I am not quite sure as to how to go about that. Hi JJ, thank you for the kind feedback. With regards to getting reviews for your book, that is not easy at all. Last time it was used to be much easier, 5 years ago anybody can buy a book and gives a good review right away. Now Amazon has put a lot of restrictions and made it more difficult to give reviews. This mainly will favor established writers with a solid existing fanbase but at the same time making it so hard for new aspiring writers to get noticed. There are still ways to get reviews but it will take quite a bit of work. However, if you think your book is deserving of attention, you should really go for it.
